Addiktion #25 - These times are worth fighting for.

While worriedly traipsing the library today, TheGlamorousPole-DancingType and I acquired someone great, someone who will hopefully become great friend - for now, let's call him TheCandianHipster, innit. He is truly excellent. (Watch this space, I want him guesting on here.)

Soon.

This is such an exciting, inspiring time in my life. Finally feel confident in the wondrous amount of like-minded people (in both passions, interests, humour, and most importantly, morals) with whom I'm sharing myself on a daily basis. Really feel like this is an environment in which I can thrive.

Think Expatriate Paris, idyllic and endless snow, black and white film, poetry, red wine, cigarettes and over-excited scholarly monologues...

To sum it up in a more succinct way, Local Natives' Camera Talk, below, feels perfectly apt.

We're running through the aisles,
Of the churches still in style.
Does this City have a curfew?

Don't you know it's good to see you, too?

The riders on the champs-élysées,
We are the tourists in the cafés.
We drank our wine along the river,
Not believing where we were at all.

It's alright,
The camera's talking.
And even though I can't be sure,

Memory tells me that these times are worth working for.

The buffalo in Catalina,
The coloured stones and troop leaders.
The voices of the canopy singers,
Ensured that we wouldn't sleep for long.

It's alright,
The camera's talking.

And even though I can't be sure,
Memory tells me that these times are worth working for.

I knew this would be the part,
My plane's arrival catches me off guard.

We'll all be leaving with a broken heart.
Wallets empty and we're back at start.

It's alright,
The camera's talking.
The cisterns not even full.
The sister is naughty,
The cistern is not even full...

Paris, we are coming, whether you'll have us or not.
We'll be with you. Soon.
